Current Need
EDI Programmer Specialist - Onsite - Pensacola, FL

Position Description

The position involves the analysis, resolution, and documentation of activities related to inbound and outbound transactions to healthcare systems.  The job requires working closely with the IT and Support teams across several application areas to resolve transaction and data issues to meet the customer’s needs. 


Minimum Requirements
2+ years experience in programming on enterprise or department servers or systems

Critical Skills
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience working with EDI in a high volume data processing environment
  • Knowledgeable of ANSI specifications (ANSI 837, 835, 277, 271, 270) and ability to determine ANSI related problems/errors.
  • Proficient with using SQL for reporting and identifying data issues.
  • Responsible for tracking and resolving EDI system problems, developing and maintaining reporting to identify and correct EDI file issues.
  • Experience modifying and running batches used for loading EDI and other proprietary transactions into a database
  • Experience with the Edifecs SpecBuilder is a plus
  • Experience using Microsoft Team Foundation Server is a plus
  • Experience with the TriZetto Facets system is a plus
  • Must be an analytical and creative problem solver
  • Must be self-motivated, have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Work with the team to develop an application that meets the client’s requirements
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to research, document and solve complex issues independently

Additional Knowledge and Skills
-Working knowledge of procedures & utilities, & good written & verbal communication skills -Working knowledge of technical system design -Working knowledge of industry trends & technology -Working knowledge of company technology processes & procedures (e.g., Open Source)

4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
