Role Summary:

As an Electrical Designer with the Unison business of GE Aviation, you'll be part of a team of over 20 highly-respected Engineers and Designers developing high-reliability electrical circuit cards for the aerospace industry and beyond.

You be a member of an Integrated Product Development Team & be responsible for completing on time designs through final qualification and production release.

Also, in this role you will work directly with manufacturing and suppliers.

Essential Responsibilities:

In particular, you will :

+ Create circuit board layouts

+ Generate / review parts for library use

+ Create all associated drawings for electrical portion of the design package

+ Support global outsourcing initiatives by preparing and sending work packages to low cost suppliers, including defining the work scope, estimating hours and due dates, monitoring progress, and serving as a technical resource through periodic communication with suppliers

+ Work within the guidelines of :

+ applicable GE Policies & Procedures

+ Engineering Standards

+ Product Definition Operating Procedures

+ Specifications

+ Government and Commercial Standards

+ and special security requirements

+ Evaluate and influence new and revised Engineering Standards and Product Definition Operating Procedures

+ Ensure all interface characteristics between components are established and agreed upon by Designers of mating / interfacing parts

+ Concurrently manage multiple projects monitoring progress and quality and ensure schedule requirements are met

+ Ensure designs result in the most cost-effective design concept

Qualifications/Requirements:

+ Associate's Degree from an accredited school or institution in a Technical Discipline WITH a minimum of 4 years of Design experience in related product technology,OR

+ High School Diploma / GED WITH a minimum of 7 years of Design experience in related product technology

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :

+ This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment

Desired Characteristics:

+ Strong oral and written communication skills

+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

+ Proficient in use of PADS

+ Familiar with DX Designer

+ Working knowledge of the IPC standards

+ Experience with multi-layer PCB layouts

+ Experience with surface mount digital board design

+ Experience with high voltage, high current layouts

+ Ability to manage electronic data files in a structured database environment

+ Web based knowledge, word processing, and electronic spreadsheet / presentation skills

+ Ability to perform in a team environment, across functions, and with suppliers and revenue sharing partners
