An Electrical Technician position in Ithaca NY just became available through Adecco Engineering and Technology.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position provides manufacturing and engineering with the technical support necessary to layout, assemble, debug, modify, test, document and accomplish training for manufactured electrical assemblies, according to policies, standards and procedures. The Electrical Technician will also provide support for customer visits during FAT / SFT (Factory Acceptance Test / Standard Factory Test).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide technical electrical support to Manufacturing personnel. Responsible for providing technical electrical assistance to all Manufacturing personnel for startup, debug, modification, testing and documentation of manufactured products.
Assembly and maintenance of electrical test equipment. Responsible for the design, assembly, testing, documentation and maintenance of electrical test equipment for manufactured products.
Assembly and testing of Controls, printed circuit boards and electrical subassemblies. Responsible for acquiring the necessary parts from stock locations and other departments, final assembly, programming, testing and repair as required, and the completion of all necessary documentation for Controls, printed circuit boards, subassemblies required for inventory and spare parts kits.
Provide technical support for troubleshooting, repairing, and shipment of Aftermarket parts being sent to or returned from the field according to policies, standards and procedures.
Provide assistance to Engineering in the assembly, debugging, testing and documentation of prototype electrical assemblies. Responsible for acquiring all necessary parts from stock locations, layout, debugging, testing, modification and documentation of prototype electrical assemblies to Engineering specifications.
Demonstrate manufactured products. Responsible for providing assistance in the demonstration, explanation and training on manufactured products to actual customers during FAT / SFT events. Responsible for understanding and executing all customer FAT and SFT protocols during the FAT / SFT.
Assist with technical training on test equipment and manufactured products to personnel and representatives. Responsible for providing assistance with training on manufactured electrical products and test equipment, including the creation and updating of documentation and procedures, as required.
Maintain parts stocked in Technical Assembly area. Responsible for cycle count, verifying quantities from receiving and placing parts in their correct stock location.
Other duties as required to maintain production schedule. Responsible for assisting other Work Centers and Departments in daily activities to help meet Customer and Production commitments.


DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
(Education, Experience, Training, Special Traits)

Associate degree in Electrical Technology or 5+ years related work experience.
Motivated individual possessing the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Capable of assembly and/or wiring from diagrams and schematics
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Understanding of control logic requirements, and experience with electrical and electronic components and their use.
Experience with micro processing as applied to machine controls.
Ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime as needed.
Ability to interact with customer sales, engineering, quality or other representatives with a high degree of customer service.
