Electrophysiologist Lab Technologist (EP) - Sign On Bonus and Relocation Available
The EP Tech assists in all procedures performed in the EP area. The EP Technologist provides a safe patient care environment that aids in the diagnosis and treatment of patients experiencing cardiac procedures. The EP tech maintains and operates the physiological systems, assists physicians during the procedures, and performs unit-based activities, which contribute to a positive and professional work environment. The EP tech demonstrates the ability to function in all of the positions with the exception of nursing. Essential information is shared through documentation and verbal communication. The EP tech will participate in continuous process improvement activities in the unit.
Knowledge & Skills:
An ability and willingness to demonstrate and maintain clinical competency as required for the EP lab assignment Excellent verbal and written skills. Demonstrate the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment, which includes working with patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease processes. Demonstrates a positive attitude towards health care team members and diverse patient populations. Provides accurate communication via charting, reporting, face to face, on the telephone and in writing. Employee must be available for all schedules cases and be able to reach the hospital within 30-minutes when on call. Performs patient charges, inventory management, and equipment upkeep as directed . Will participate in unit performance improvement activities . Handles confidential patient information daily . Must be able to perform as a team member . Attends at least 80% of staff meetings and all mandatory in-services. Must be able to demonstrate understanding of HCA's and St. David's "Patients First" safety initiative by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures in National Patient Safety Standards.
Preferred: ARRT, CVT, or Certified OR tech, BLS, ACLS
Preferred: Two years prior EP or Cath Lab experience, performing both diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Required: If RT, require current TDH license/ARRT
Preferred: Certified Cardiovascular Technologist-Invasive
