Candidate required to perform Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) design and test on IBM servers and options. Engineer with responsibilities to perform printed circuit board (PCB) analysis on proposed card layouts, analyze power and grounding schemes on PCB boards, power components and mechanical packages. Use of full-wave modeling tools to analyze design trade-offs and to predict emissions of and susceptibility to radio frequency electromagnetic fields. Perform basic EMC measurements in a lab, using spectrum and network analyzers, signal generators, receivers, near-field probes, antennas and electrostatic discharge (ESD) guns. Review product functional specifications, schematics, test plans and other publications to ensure that products are designed for EMC compliance and tested correctly. Troubleshoot and debug EMC product issues and work with other engineers (IBM and 3rd
party) to produce EMC design solutions. Provide technical assistance and support to IBM's business partners, which includes reviewing test reports and establishing test specifications. Responsibilities:
