Description Job Description: The successful candidate will own all aspects of product EMC compliance processes/practices programs (including driving continuous improvement) within the business groups corporate wide. Provides regulatory direction and guidance to the network of product regulations engineers. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring all products sold or distributed comply with worldwide EMC product regulations, while making certain there are no design related excursions that negatively impact product development and/or distribution through the network of regulatory engineers. This individual is also responsible for setting the EMC strategy for Intel's regulatory direction and manages internal/external product EMC conformity assessment activities for all INTEL products. The candidate is also charged with managing International standards development activities for EMC as it's related to ITE, inclusive of typical peripherals. On an as needed basis the candidate will be called upon to work closely with engineering, product development teams, to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements; reviewing specifications, evaluating vendors, managing certification and testing budgets, conducting relevant tests and analyzing test data and ensuring products conform to product standards and specifications; comprehending implications of new technologies and or design concepts and ensuring designs will comply; assesses risks, develop procedures and design guides for products and systems; respond to regulatory queries, incidents, and events related to Intel products, manage engagement with outside regulatory bodies and develop solutions to problems.
Strong analytical and project management skills required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are also required. Comfortable working in highly matrixed organization across functional teams and working independently within the framework of Intel product roadmaps. Some travel will be required.
The candidate must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current (BS or MS) level school classes, projects, research and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field of study
- Solid understanding of:
- Fundamental EMC / RF concepts,
- RF circuitry and wireless technologies, in addition to EMC and RF regulatory requirements
- Electronics and physics
- MS or PhD in electrical engineering or physics or related field
- Unrestricted right to work in the US without sponsorship
- Global product regulatory knowledge; inclusive of EMC / RF engineering related to multiple industries, solid understanding of antenna theory
- Experience with applicable EMC and RF test methods and equipment
- Experience in the design for EMC / RF compliance relative to interoperability.
