The Maintenance Mechanic, under the direction of the Utility Operations Manager, provides maintenance support for plant utility operations associated with the Energy Center. Sets up, adjusts, repairs, and maintains utility related equipment such as boilers, chillers, chilled water towers, air compressors, generators and air handlers. Primary focus will involve maintaining equipment by performing PMs and calibrations, installing new equipment, completing validation protocols, documenting work using SAP, and other duties as requested. Carries out industrial maintenance functions in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices and prepares technical GMP documentation. Monitors proper equipment operation via Building Automation System (BAS) and reacts appropriately to alarm conditions. This individual will be expected to provide technical specifications and information to project engineers, contractors, and other MMD/division requestors. Must be a team player and able to operate in an employee involvement environment. Must be self-motivated and willing/able to work unsupervised.
Education Minimum Requirement:
Eight (8) years utility operation and industrial maintenance experience, or a 2 year technical degree (Electronics Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Systems Technology or similar program) and 5 years industrial maintenance experience.
Required Experience and Skills:
Equipment instrumentation, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills are essential: must possess the skills to be immediately effective in this area without further skills training.
Must be able to read electrical prints, P&ID's, and understand PID control loops.
Extensive industrial experience involving utility system generation, distribution and control are required, including a working knowledge of steam, compressed air, HVAC and water systems.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Working knowledge of Building Automation Systems (Siemens) is highly desired.
Proficiency in the use and knowledge of PCs (Hardware & Software) including word processing, spread sheet applications, and Microsoft Windows platform is highly desired.
HVAC experience is preferred. Experience in cGMP Facility is preferred
