To Apply: Apply Online by selecting "Apply Now" so your resume will be sent directly to the Recruiter Job Description and Qualification Requirements: Our Client is a project based material supplier for utility transmission, distribution and substation construction customers with voltage levels ranging from 7.2kV thru 765kV is seeking a Project Manager for a 7 year contract in support of materials management for a large energy client. Project scope will center on the supply and management of utility construction materials to include electrical equipment, conductors/cabling, hardware, and other commodities. The project manager is primarily tasked with managing material purchase, handling, logistics, and delivery while balancing scope, quality, schedule, budget, resources, and risk on the project. • Direct and manage one or multiple projects from material demand initiation through customer acceptance/project close out. Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders • Issue purchase orders within company guidelines; establish terms and conditions hierarchy • Facilitate, monitor and control vendor/customer approval drawing cycles • Control vendor compliance to contract and specifications while ensuring vendors meet their committed delivery dates. Expedite material delivery cycles where required • Develop and maintain full project schedule tracking and managing all aspects of the project deliverables. Identify, plan, and manage project dependencies, critical path, time lines, and milestones using appropriate tools (MS Project as a primary tool) • Effectively communicate project expectations, liaise with project stakeholders in a clear and timely fashion, and engage in regular communications, both written and verbal • Proactively manage and track changes in project scope; quote and process change orders • Facilitate logistics of material both internally and externally • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel • Identify/resolve issues and conflicts within the project team • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements, documentation, and presentations • Perform risk analysis, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans • Resolve conflicts across entire project team throughout the project lifecycle • Perform other duties as required Required Qualifications: • Knowledge of industry standard project management practice • Knowledge of general business and management principles • Proficient skills in MS Project, Outlook, Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat Pro • Strong computer skills to include learning to interface with a custom ERP database • Ability to build strong business relationships with customers, vendors, and other functional areas within the company. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze work flow/processes in order to provide excellent service to internal and external customers • Strong interpersonal, conflict management, and negotiation skills as well as strong human relations skills. • Effective skills in conducting research into project-related issues and products • Ability to learn, understand and apply new technologies and software applications • Excellent time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Willingness to learn and grow in a continuous improvement environment Required Experience: • Direct work experience in a large-scale project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution. • Ideal candidate will have direct experience in electrical utility industry centered on substation, transmission, and distribution materials.
