Amgen has an Engineer opening within the Container Science and Engineering group at Amgen in Thousand Oaks.

As a vital and essential group within the Device Technology, the Container Science Engineering provides the key technical leadership in maintaining, improving and elevating the quality and performance of Amgen's Primary Containers. They work collaboratively with Formulation Fill & Finish, Quality, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Global Strategic Sourcing, Packaging and Labeling and Device Engineering to ensure the designs of Amgen's Primary Containers are meeting their intended requirements and customer needs. Position Responsibilities:
Develop characterization methods for container closure integrity testing of primary containers
Establish strategies and lead the qualification of primary containers for new and existing products
Coordinate and monitor the activities of container closure integrity tests across various projects and sites as well as leading the efforts of a group of peers
Establish and maintain standard operations and specifications, perform studies and assessment, provide design reviews and technical supports on primary containers
Lead integration of primary containers into new and existing devices
Collaborate extensively with internal and external project teams, i.e. manufacturing, vendors, quality and regulatory

Basic Qualifications:
Master's degree
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of engineering experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology or Medical Device industry
Associate's degree and 6 years of engineering experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology or Medical Device industry
High school diploma / GED and 8 years of engineering experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology or Medical Device industry

Preferred Qualifications:
M.S in Chemical, Biomedical, or Mechanical Engineering
Knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, quality control, statistical analysis and application, and aseptic filling process
Project management skills and the ability to coordinate and communicate across different functions and sites in order to successfully complete projects
Ability to travel to international locations assisting our development partners during implementation of specific container requirements into their processes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills together with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
