Schedule: PRN, As Needed

Patrols various areas of Hospital facilities, grounds and acts to deter loss of Hospital, employee, patient and visitor property by intercepting unauthorized individuals and investigating unusual incidents. Work is performed inside and outside in all types of weather conditions on a regular basis.
Day to Day working knowledge and skills related to the maintenance and operation of Plant Operations systems including the Steam and Hot Water Boilers, Chillers, Cooling Towers, DX Systems, Medical Gas and Vacuum Systems, Electrical Generators, Electrical Switch Gear and Distribution Systems, Elevators, Nurse Call and Video Systems and a working knowledge of Fluid Mechanics. Job knowledge also requires knowledge and the application of Building Codes, Cal-OSHA and Life Safety Codes and standards on a daily basis. Must be willing to listen to and follow directions and accept responsibility for actions and yet, be able to think and work independently, Good written and verbal communication skills and willingness to work with computer systems and learn the Building Automation System are also essential knowledge and skill elements of the job.


Minimum: For job assignments that include working with or handling EPA HCFC and CFC refrigerants an EPA recognized CFC Refrigeration & Universal Recovery Certificate is required.
Preferred: CFC Refrigeration & Recovery certificate - Universal preferred for all Engineers
Minimum: Journeyman status as evidenced by six years of documented work experience in a recognized building trade or facilities engineering or biomedical related position or by providing evidence of the completion of any recognized CA apprenticeship program.

Minimum: High School Diploma and evidence of some post high school vocational training.
Preferred: Completion of 4 year apprenticeship or Associate Degree Vocational Training Program.
