Monsanto is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Global Engineering group at our Headquarters in St. Louis Owensville, MO at our Field Analytics office.  The role of the Emissions Engineer is to provide high quality engineering and analytical support for emissions testing projects at Monsanto crop protection and seeds manufacturing facilities.

The person in this role will oversee and provide technical management of Field Analytics group to assure compliance with Monsanto facility Air Emission requirements.  

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Technical management of the Field Analytics group including project scheduling, personnel training, equipment procurement, time tracking/billing, cost management and soliciting feedback from facilities.  Active participation and supervision in the field on test projects.
  • Must be knowledgeable and functional in applicable EPA, State or other agency emission test methods, procedures and regulations; and standard concepts, practices and procedures in the emission testing field
  • Provide technical guidance to facility environmental groups on emission compliance issues.
  • Conduct testing with continuous emission monitors. Operate and maintain various analyzers and elements of the sampling and monitoring systems.
  • Review laboratory analytical data and perform common sample analyses. Communicate results to facilities.
  • Collaborate with facilities and regulatory agencies to generate and submit test plan protocols and test reports.
  • Assume the role of Laboratory Director for Field Analytics and the responsibility for the overall quality assurance system. Maintain laboratory accreditation certification. 
  • Assist in conducting in-field Industrial Hygiene monitoring at various Seeds manufacturing operations.


Qualifications:
  • BS in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related degree program such as Chemistry or Environmental Science
  • 10-15 years experience in conducting and managing emission testing projects. Must be able to manage a small team and office
  • Knowledge of State and Federal air regulations, industrial air permitting and compliance. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
