Modis Engineering, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, is sourcing for an immediate opening for an Engineering Lab Supervisor in Piscataway NJ. This is a contract to hire opportunity with a client in the higher education space in Piscataway, NJ. We are ideally seeking a candidate that has worked in industry as Mechanical or Industrial Engineer for at least two years, but is looking to get into more of an academic/research environment.
Main Responsibilities of the Engineering Lab Supervisor in Piscataway, NJ include:
Responsible for laboratory equipment such as machining equipment, hardware, software and plotters and ensure the laboratory is maintained to be a safe, clean and efficient environment
Teach and train research assistants and technicians on laboratory processes and equipment; set-up equipment and demonstrate proper use; assists students and faculty in prototyping, testing and conducting experiments
Collaborate with faculty on research projects including conceptual design, detailed drawings, component and material selection, hardware and software integration and coordination of the services when necessary and safety review
2+ years working in a laboratory or industry environment with extensive hands on experience with machining equipment such as 3D printers, PLC, CNC, lathe, milling machines, etc.
Knowledge of sensors, robotics, data communication and information technology are a plus
Strong ability to communicate and collaborate with faculty, staff and students
Experience as a mechanical engineer, industrial engineer or with electrical/electronic engineer
Minimum of an Associates of Science or Bachelors of Science Degree
