The Premium Subscriptions team's mission is to provide powerful solutions that connect members with the right people and opportunities. As an Engineering Manager on the Premium Subscriptions team you will build and iterate on premium features that drive the growth and engagement for LinkedIn paid subscribers. The Premium Subscriptions team team drives 20% of overall LinkedIn revenue and is the highest margin business for LinkedIn.
You will be leading a team working at all levels of the stack, from the data layer (Oracle, Voldemort, Espresso, Hadoop, etc), to the distributed service layer (REST), all the way to the front-end presentation tier (Node. , Play) and mobile clients (iOS, Android, Touch Web). The ideal candidate will be excited for the challenge to transform and think critically on many computer science disciplines including product design, usability, building APIs and user-centric online applications, business logic, scaling performance, and 24x7 reliability. This position is full-time and based in our Sunnyvale office.
Manage the performance and career development of a team of 5-10 engineers, and own significant parts of LinkedIn products that require design, architecture, and coding. Manage teams to scale distributed applications, make architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, review code, and deliver with speediness and quality. Participate with senior management in developing a long-term technology road map. Be a role model and professional coach for engineers with a strong bias for action and focus on craftsmanship Prototype and iterate designs in collaboration with other team members, designers and product managers Provide recommendations to team and partners on best practices, architecture design, methodologies, etc. Passionate about product design and end-user interaction (UX) and user experience (UI) Drive daily scrum and sprint planning meetings
BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions. Programming experience in Java, C/C++, C#, Python, and/or Ruby.
