We are seeking a Manager to be responsible for services powering the key parts of the feed on LinkedIn. . This Manager will be responsible for executing on projects to support both native/web clients, coordinating with platform and infrastructure teams on joint projects, and charting long term architectures to meet our performance, robustness, and scalability needs. You'll have the opportunity to make significant technical contributions to the Feed ecosystem as well as mentor and help grow the careers of bright engineers.
Responsibilities • Manage the performance and career development of a team of 7 engineers, and own significant parts of LinkedIn products that require design, architecture, and coding • Manage teams to scale distributed applications, make architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, review code, and deliver with speediness and quality • Participate with senior management in developing a long-term technology road map • Be a role model and professional coach for engineers with a strong bias for action and focus on craftsmanship • Prototype and iterate designs in collaboration with other team members, designers and product managers • Provide recommendations to team and partners on best practices, architecture design, methodologies, etc. • Drive daily scrum and sprint planning meetings
Preferred Qualifications • Previous leadership experience with strong execution and organization skills • Passionate about developing and up-leveling others, building a good team culture • Have a good product sense, can articulate ideas and influence others • MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline • Expert knowledge of computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design • Experience building scalable products on top of distributed systems
