LinkedIn is great site with lots of professional content that attracts millions of people everyday. We have lots of cool technologies built in-house that powers this great web site. Many frameworks, multiple different storage technologies, search indices, our Hadoop clusters are just few examples of them. But not all the things that make this site great reside inside our data centers. There are many other components of our ecosystem that live outside and they have the uttermost importance in our reliability, security and performance. Everyday we route billions of requests and responses around the internet. These information flows are orchestrated according to a master plan which provides the world-class service to our customers.
We are currently seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the LinkedIn Traffic Team. This team is at the heart of our presence around the Internet. We deal with intelligent routing, new transport protocols and compression techniques, different network topologies, CDNs and the infrastructure that enables us to run code in different data centers around the world. The Traffic Infrastructure Engineering team is a vibrant team which is always working with the cutting edge technology. We are dealing with enormous scale and impacting the whole site with every single change we do.
Develop a long-term technology road map.
Manage the performance and career development of a small team of engineers Own significant parts of this infrastructure which will require design, architecture, and coding. Collaborate with other engineering teams across LinkedIn Work with building distributed, Internet-scale systems. Work with Routing, Computer Networks, Communication Protocols, DNS and CDNs. be actively contributing to Apache Traffic Server
Basic Qualifications:
BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline At least 6 years of industry experience. 2+ years management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of multi-threading, concurrency, and parallel processing technologies. Experience in computer networks, routing, communication protocols, DNS and CDNs
