Purpose:To monitor, regulate and control all battery manufacturing processes including oxide manufacturing, salvage, and remit, quality of air and water and waste disposal. Using Six Sigma methodology, runs projects to deliver project cost, quality, and time objectives established by their Champion and Manager Performs varied and somewhat complex work where independent judgment and action is exercised. Primary Duties:• Monitors new processes, including new equipment and tools, to ensure performance to specifications is met before releasing new processes to production.• Directs implementation of process changes, and installation of any new equipment.• Impact Operational Cost and lead projects that meet the minimum economic value required.• Participate in project progress reviews with Master Black Belts, Champions, and other appropriate leadership levels on at least a monthly basis• Corroborates with plant Quality Control and manufacturing personnel to ensure that processes and equipment produce a product that meets Quality Control and Engineering standards.• Track project performance in CI database to assure timely completion and achievement of quality ant savings goals.• Reviews new and modified specifications for proper content, and controls timely introduction of same into the manufacturing system.• Audits compliance to new specifications.• Checks all new or old equipment, tools and the plant building to ensure that compliance with OSHA and EPA standards are met.• Attend required basic training and acquire needed skills.• Performs special studies and analyses at request of plant or Division Management.• Overtime is required to meet internal and external customer requirements.• Performs any other duties as assigned.NOTE: This is a general overview of the job duties, not a complete list of essential job functions.This job and all other duties performed under this job description will adhere to all Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations, as well as any additional plant specific environmental management system requirements (see the plant's ISO 14001 EMP).Job Specification:• Bachelor's Degree Required. BSME, BSEE or Chemical Engineering preferred.• Experience in Six Sigma, or related discipline, preferred.• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred,• Possess basic statistical knowledge and the ability to learn and apply statistics to process and product improvement projects• Basic understanding, or ability to learn, Lean Manufacturing/Lean Office concepts• Knowledge and experience in equipment automation preferred.•
