Conducts site assessments, reviews and self-inspections. Analyzes and interprets results, recommends appropriate corrective actions, communicates results and follows up on issues or concerns until completion.
Conduct environmental audits; coordinate plant preparation for corporate audits.
Assists in conducting site investigations for all environmental incidents, prepares reports and facilities related to identified corrective actions.
Assists with the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and ensures the implementation of environmental requirements accordingly.
Coordinates the collection, transportation and storage of hazardous waste materials.
Be knowledgeable in Best Business Practices and incorporate in programs.
Develops and implements effective plant programs for the identification, prevention and control of environmental issues. Develops and coordinates plant environmental education and training programs.
Maintains current awareness of applicable federal, state and local environment regulations. Maintains legal, governmental and company environmental records according to standards.
Accompanies visiting inspectors and reports findings.
Assists in reviewing all manufacturing and support operations to assure ongoing environmental compliance with applicable environmental standards.
Maintain professional competency through participation in professional education and training programs and completion of any necessary requirements to maintain professional credentials.
Supervision activities related to direct reports.
Overtime is required to meet internal and external customer requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
This job and all other duties performed under this job description will adhere to all Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations, as well as any additional plant specific environmental management system requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health Science or related field required.
Minimum two (2) years experience in manufacturing environment with experience in a supervisory/management role.
Previous experience leading environmental programs, including experience with environmental agencies and required reporting.
Previous experience EPA compliance.
Previous experience managing a waste water treatment program preferred, with Class B Waste Water Operators License within the State of South Carolina a plus.
