As Lead Modeling Systems Engineer at GE Aviation's world-class EPISCenter you'll have full responsibility for modeling / simulation of an electrical power system.
In this key role, you will:
+ Lead and support modeling / simulation of electrical power systems for civil and military aviation
+ Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
+ Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
+ Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
+ Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
+ Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in physics based modeling practices (Including, knowledge in MATLAB / Simulink, PLECS or similar modeling environment; Modeling experience / knowledge in the interaction between electrical machines, power converters, and their control loops)
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)-based real-time simulation
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :
+ This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in physics based modeling practices and demonstrated knowledge in MATLAB / Simulink, PLECS or similar modeling environment
+ Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
+ Solid oral and written communication skills
+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
+ PC proficiency
