Real Estate Investments sources and manages commercial real estate investments through seven regional field offices in the U.S. and International field offices in London, Tokyo, Mexico City and Santiago.

 

The Equity Analyst will support both the Asset Management and Acquisitions teams for the MetLife General Account portfolio and third-party clients. The portfolio includes office buildings, retail, industrial, multi-family and hotels.      

 

 

Asset Management

  • Support the Equity Team in managing the equity portfolio to satisfy the investment needs of the MetLife general account as well as third party clients.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of business plans, property operating budgets, leasing proposals, appraisals/valuations, capital budgets, income reprojections and compliance.
  • Be an integral part of the dispositions team on selected assets; Prepare reports and documents for review by senior management and third-party clients.

Acquisitions

  • Support the Equity Team in the analysis of information for new equity investments (including joint ventures) for the MetLife general account as well as third party investment accounts. Includes underwriting, in-depth analytical analysis, preparation of transaction approval memos, and presentations to investment committee.
  • Assist with due diligence, data collection efforts and closing process in the acquisition and development of real estate equity assets; Coordinate with MetLife asset management professionals to minimize operational issues following closing. 

 

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience with demonstrated understanding of commercial real estate valuation and discounted cash flow analysis.
  • Exposure to large/complex commercial real estate assets, including office, industrial, multi-family, retail, hotel, student housing and senior living projects.
  • Experience in Argus (DCF and/or Enterprise) and knowledge of IRES/MRI - Foresight software a plus.
  • Well organized and results-orientated team player with the ability to work under pressure independently.  Emphasis on communication skills (both oral and written) and ability to handle multiple assignments.
  • Strong quantitative and computer skills, specifically advanced Excel modeling.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (real estate or finance), MBA preferred.
