Manages implementation and ongoing operation of HCA's Ethics and Compliance program for North Suburban Medical Center. Provides orientation for new staff to ensure compliance with HCA's Ethics and Compliance policies and procedures.
Responsible for oversight and administrative leadership of the Health Information Management (HIM) department. Supervises HIM staff and daily operations of HIM department in collaboration with the division HRIS Coding Manager and TMCA HIM Coding Compliance Manager. Assures patient confidentiality is preserved. Ensures compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards, and Coding Compliance program. Works with medical staff in regard to issues involving medical records. Oversees records retention specialist. Serves as privacy official covering privacy of and access to, PHI in compliance with federal and state laws.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Not required. HIM department is supervised for coding and compliance by a registered HRIS Coding Manager at the division level and from a sister HealthONE facility.
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of three years in health care setting; experience with compliance programs and
Strong implementation skills; knowledge of health care legal and regulatory
requirements; strong leadership and presentation skills.
Degree of Supervision Required:
Minimum of three (3) months. May be modified at the discretion of the manager.HCA - Corporate Ethics and Compliance training is prerequisite.
