This position reports to the Legal Department’s Vice President, Associate General Counsel for Spectrum Enterprise and Spectrum Business, and is responsible for supporting that VP and other attorneys and Directors in the Legal Department. This position helps manage day-to-day activities including schedules, travel arrangements, correspondence, messages and communication with internal and external contacts. Represent the company at the highest level, frequent contacts with leaders of the business organizations and many employees. Completes numerous special projects at request.

Actively and consistently support the assigned team

Provides support with correspondence, phone calls, letters and visitors; answer routine and some complex inquiries, obtain and furnish information, and prioritize incoming communications.

Prepares support for travel, public events and speaking engagements by compiling relevant information and contributing content to composition of presentations, speeches or other correspondence.

Organizes and prepares complex documents requiring the integration of multiple office technology and software applications including Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Acts as a resource for word processing, printing, powerpoint and spreadsheet applications and for numerous Legal Department and Company web tools and databases including Serengeti Legal Tracker and PeopleSoft.

Researches, compiles and analyzes information and data.

Handles confidential information appropriately.

Schedules and maintains calendars of appointments, meetings, travel itineraries, and coordinate related arrangements. Extensive use of Microsoft Outlook.

Performs comprehensive event planning and coordination function, including determining attendees, flow of information to attendees, equipment, staffing, catering, location, etc.

May oversee some administrative functions for the office and help coordinate requests and services from the Facilities Management team and Information Technology. Persistence and follow-through are essential.

Back-up other Legal Department assistants as needed.

Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
Ability to show judgment and initiative and to accomplish job duties
Ability to type 60 wpm
Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, Serengeti Legal Tracker, and PeopleSoft and other Company web tools)
Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments
Ability to work seated for prolonged periods of time

Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience

Related Work Experience
Experience working in a corporate legal department or law firm is preferred 3+ years

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Knowledge of cable television products and services
Knowledge of office procedures and the operation of standard office equipment (i.e., 10-key calculator, printer, scanner)
Knowledge of organization policies and practices
Solid expertise in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
