The Legal Affairs line of business is comprised of the Law Department, Corporate Ethics and Compliance and Legal Affairs Operations, and provides legal services and compliance oversight to the Company globally. Within Legal Affairs the Office of International Compliance supports compliance in all MetLife operations outside of the United States in 40+ countries across Latin America, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia.





  • Filters all incoming correspondence (i.e. calls/emails) and responds on behalf of the Head of International Compliance and/or the Head of Compliance Risk Management, escalates as appropriate.
  • Manages calendar and coordinates travel, meetings and events.
  • Maintains timely and accurate processing of expense reports.
  • Serves as a liaison to multiple internal departments on behalf of the Head of International Compliance and/or the Head of Compliance Risk Management.
  • Prepares presentations, memos and letters at the request of the Head of International Compliance and/or the Head of Compliance Risk Management.



  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Good analytical abilities in order to collect, assemble, and organize data.
  • Ability to identify, resolve and follow up on issues.
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential material.
  • Strong interpersonal, organization and time management skills.
  • High School Degree, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree a plus.
  • 2-5 years of related experience, specifically supporting a senior executive.
  • A high level of proficiency with computers, advanced knowledge of and proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
