The AI Product Group at Microsoft, responsible for the Bing and Cortana products is looking for a Senior Communications Manager to help drive communications and engagement for the team and externally.

We are seeking a strong collaborator to join the Office of the CVP. Our mission is to ensure Bing’s and Cortana’s executive presence is impactful, communications are professional, and we keep connected to external PR and marketing activities. You understand the importance of using communications to help employees connect with leaders, their co-workers and the company. You look for ways to inspire those around you and tell a good story.

You will have three key responsibilities:

CVP internal communication: you will drive the CVP’s internal communication to ensure teams are connected and well informed on our product strategy and ongoing progress against the strategy. You will find ways to inspire the team to do their best work. You will partner both with the AI+R Communication team and the Bing engineering, Cortana engineering and AI Core teams to ensure our message is cohesive and supports the AI+R narrative.

CVP external communications: you will assist the CVP in external communication by developing a strong understanding of our product portfolio and how we can use speaking engagements to showcase our products to the industry.

Bridge between the product team and marketing and PR: you will work across the product teams and partner with the marketing and on creating and executing our overall marketing strategy with an eye towards achieving specific FY18 goals as well as driving momentum in the market. You will also partner with our AI+R and Bing/Cortana PR teams, to tell our product story. There will require you to build a strong partnership with these teams and in this capacity, you will be representing the CVP.

Across all three areas, not only you can define our strategic approach for highest impact outcome, but you will not shy away from rolling up your sleeves and delivering the tactical components as well.

This position’s day to day responsibilities will vary greatly; from video production, to helping with executive presentations, to drafting team wide e-mail communications. The position requires an individual with excellent visual and written communication skills, and who understands the Bing and Cortana products and strategy and turns it into effective communication. We are looking for a self-starter who can work in a rapidly changing environment and knows how to get things done through influence and collaboration and can tolerate ambiguity.

Qualifications and Skills:
•5+ years executive communications experience; performing similar functions for CVP and above
•Seasoned business professional with multi-disciplinary experience.
•Strong visual, oral, and written communication skills.
•Power user of PowerPoint & Sharepoint.
•Strong collaboration, networking and interpersonal skills with ability to build positive working relationships.
•Demonstrated excellent analytical, problem resolution and decision-making skills
•Online Services experience, particularly within the Search industry a plus.
•Experience managing communications in countries outside of the US is preferred
•An undergraduate B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent business experience required. MBA preferred.
•This position is based in Bellevue, WA., International travel may be required.
