+ Be responsible to lead and drive successful projects electrical requirements
+ Support various electrical system shutdowns as determined by the shutdown leader
+ Support, author and review electrical bid specification packages and construction documents for a variety of renovation projects, provide installation designs and troubleshooting for electrical systems
+ Review and guide designs from contract Electrical Engineers to ensure meeting site standards
+ You may be assigned a Facilities alarm monitoring system to manage alarms & system maintenance and will be required to respond after normal working hours to support emergency response situations
+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with minimum 5 years of work experience in a large commercial/industrial facility or laboratory as a Facilities Electrical Engineer with experience in renovations, new electrical system installations, new experimental equipment installations and construction processes
+ Minimum 5 years of experience operating and/or designing and troubleshooting electrical systems such Load Centers, Motor Control Centers, power circuit breakers, interlock circuits, PLCs, power distribution from 5kV down to 120v, and demonstrated ability to author and execute switching orders
+ Minimum 5 years of experience preparing cost effective electrical system designs for power distribution from 5kV down to 120v, laboratory equipment, process systems, and power distribution
+ Demonstrates a working knowledge of machine and motor controls, variable frequency drives and substation protection schemes
+ Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
+ Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY
+ Must be 18 years or older

+ Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 10 or more years of work experience in a Research & Development or National/Industrial Laboratory as a Facilities Electrical Engineer
+ PE license
+ Six Sigma Certified GB/BB/MBB
+ Working knowledge of Computer Maintenance Management Systems
+ Ability to manage multiple projects, provide detailed lists of electrical tasks and materials necessary to support the Trades for construction of the project
+ Experience and knowledge of AutoCAD
+ Experience troubleshooting of building electrical and power distribution systems, application and troubleshooting of VFDs
+ Working knowledge of the, NYS Fire Code, NYS Building codes, NEC, NFPA 70 & 70E, OSHA/Safety compliance requirements
+ Demonstrated strong communication and presentation skills with proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite of programs
+ Experience working with Unionized workforce
