Primary role is to improve workforce productivity and work quality by eliminating, in advance, potential delays and obstacles through proper work planning of parts, machine time and manpower.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
Expected to assist in the implementation of Alcoa/Howmet’s EHS value and policy statement and its accompanying principles.
Compile with all department, facility, Corporate and Regulatory EH&S regulations.
Wear all required personal protective equipment. Report all job related illness and injuries. (Per employee handbook).
Report all Safety, Health & Environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
Attend all EH&S training.
Supports Area Maintenance supervisor
Receives all work orders from the requesting departments assigned.
Makes sketches, diagrams, etc to clarify the intent of the work order.
Reviews and screens each work order for completeness to include: work scope, priority and requested work date are realistic with practical lead time and charge numbers and coding are complete.
Ensures work requested is needed and refers to maintenance leadership if issues cannot be resolved.
Obtains blueprints, drawings, manuals and procedures as needed to clarify the intent of the work order.
Examines jobs to be done with the Supervisor and determines best way to accomplish the work.
Identifies and obtains all materials as required for the work order.
Ensures the safety needs are given a top priority in work planning.
Estimates jobs showing sequences of steps, number of craftsmen and type, and man hours for each task.
Identifies any special tools or equipment.
Prepares a weekly forecast of all planned jobs available for scheduling for the following week.
Maintains backlog files of work orders awaiting scheduling in accordance with priority and estimated completion dates.
Attends meetings with Production and Maintenance supervisors to define the planned work to be scheduled for the next shutdown.
Plans predictive Technology work with direction from the Maintenance Leadership.
Follows up with the Supervisors to ensure work orders are returned at the proper time and for level of completeness.
Uses the CMMS to develop a file of standard work orders for regularly recurring repair jobs based on historical experience.
Reviews with the maintenance Supervisor the actual labor expended versus estimate in order to determine corrective measures needed to improve accuracy or quality of work.
Makes recommendations for system improvements.
Maintains records and files and prepares accurate control reports.
Lead job/outage as required.
Lead follow-up meetings to capture learning from crafts/operators and capture improvements in procedures.
