Federal Tax Manager

Job Summary

A Senior Manager is a critical member of the local tax office team, providing thought leadership to the partner group while actively developing and mentoring staff, seniors and managers. This role requires a thorough knowledge of the tax issues facing multinational US companies (private and public) in the areas of tax compliance, income tax accounting and tax consulting services. Also requires the oversight of multiple client service teams and the proven ability to plan, direct, execute and complete tax projects and compliance efforts across a variety of industries.


Skills Preferred:


Comprehensive working knowledge of ASC 740

Exceptional tax preparation and provision review skillset

Considerable experience identifying and addressing client needs

Building and maintaining strong client relationships

Communicating innovative tax planning strategies and their value propositions

Managing resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, firm risk, billing and collections

Leadership skillset with success supervising teams to create an atmosphere of trust

Welcomes diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation

Manage, develop, and mentor staff/senior staff/managers on projects and assess performance through formal periodic reviews and informal feedback.




7+  years experience in public accounting or public/coporate mix; strong preference for Big 4 or large national firm experience.

Advanced technical and tax accounting skillset in the areas of: corporate taxation with a consulting mindset.

Proven leadership skills in managing client service teams and multiple projects in a fast-paced and interactive team environment to meet and exceed client expectations.

Ability to mentor and develop tax staff, seniors and managers

Exceptional client service and communication skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships

Flexibility in working environment (on-site, office, home, remotely, etc.)

Ability to identify value-added opportunities and work in a team environment to develop business

Personal drive to develop self/others and provide leadership insight to the local tax team

CPA required
