Integral account management role supporting AE with management of assigned book of business through collaboration efforts across internal departments to drive broker/customer satisfaction, new business and client retention results.  Assigned territory is San Diego. Position may reside in either Irvine or Tempe office.


  • Supports AE in the internal and external post-sale activities associated with the acquisition of new business and in maintaining existing broker/client relationships.


  • May conduct post-sale enrollment meetings/benefit fairs or request support through Onsite department; presenting product information, distributing approved materials, and answering questions.


  • Broker advocate working with internal partners to effectively resolve escalated issues, be able to identify root cause and recommend solutions.


  • Actively participates in finalist meetings, annual account review and stewardship meetings for existing customers and broker meetings to discuss both. Prepares PowerPoint presentation.


  • Collect and ensure proper licensing and appointment paperwork is in good order for writing agents.


  • Actively participates and quarterbacks the implementation process, including actively participating on implementation calls with client/broker.


  • Demonstrates strong client-specific product knowledge and provides consultative assistance on issues related to their plans. Stays informed of specific client activities taking place (acquisitions, divestures, layoffs, budget challenges, etc.).


  • Provides renewal support – Delivery and tracking renewal status and margin position, negotiation of rates, working with underwriting to request alternate plan designs as necessary and initiation of amendments borne out of final decisions.



  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience;  at least 3 to 4 years account management experience and Life and Health license required within 90 days of employment.


  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.


  • Ability to influence and drive results.


  • Strong relationship building skills.  


  • Strong product knowledge/experience in VB enrollment management through third party vendors/enrollment firms preferred.


  • Excellent presentation skills, oral and written communication skills.


  • Strong organizational skills.


  • Able to work well with others as well as independently.


  • Strong decision making and critical thinking skills.


  • Ability to recognize opportunities to recommend new product offerings.


Approximately 25% -30% travel required.
