Finance Analyst - Manufacturing Supply Chain / Windows Devices

The WDG (Windows and Devices Group) Manufacturing and Supply Chain (MSC) manages a sophisticated end-to-end hardware supply chain for a variety of products including Phones, Surface, Xbox and accessories, Kinect, and PC peripherals. A key part of MSC is the Care organization which is responsible for the management and repair of returned devices. The MSC Finance team partners closely with this team to aggressively manage costs, enable scale and complexity and drive controls and compliance. This Finance Analyst position is an entry-level opportunity for a highly motivated individual to support MSC Care Operations, primarily in analysis of cost to repair at outsourced repair facilities worldwide - analyzing costs and trends and identifying and driving improved reporting and analysis tools. This individual will also work with stakeholders in Finance and MSC on analysis of key initiatives as needed. The Care space has been identified as a key priority for both MSC and MSC Finance. This role will provide great visibility and opportunities for impact greater than are generally found in roles of this level The successful candidate will need to be very strong at financial analysis and be able to apply these analytical skills to the Care space. He/she will need to be comfortable with ambiguity and be able to work without close supervision.

Core Responsibilities:

Partner with Care operations and other parts of MSC Finance to analyze cost or repair for Microsoft hardware products Develop and improve robust analysis and reporting tools and methodologies resulting in greater understanding of repair costs Partner with a multi-functional teams to create systematic approach to reporting and analysis or end-to-end Care costs Various ad-hoc analysis and projects.

Requirements/ Qualifications:

BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or related degree. Strong demonstrated capabilities in and aptitude for financial analysis.

Expertise in MS Office - with advanced Excel skills & extensive experience using multiple formulas and pivot tables with strong ability to manipulate large volumes of data

Proficiency in internal MS Finance Tools a plus

Experience in or exposure to manufacturing or supply chain environment a significant plus

Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple groups

Demonstrated experience in problem solving and project management with proven ability to drive projects and analysis to closure

Ability to rapidly learn new business spaces and identify opportunities for improvement

Travel to Repair locations worldwide will be required from time to time
