The Financial Leadership Program (FLP) provides aspiringfinance and accounting professionals with a range of unique experiences incorporate accounting and finance to help shape them into future businessleaders. Over the course of the three-year program, accounting and financeprofessionals develop their careers through a series of two 6-month and two1-year rotations designed to challenge them to quickly adapt and add value toeach position.
As associates enter the program, each is assigned a peermentor to help introduce them to Shire's corporate culture and the values andgoals of the FLP. The cross-functional knowledge and breadth of experienceassociates gain enable them to pursue numerous career opportunities within Shire. Through formal training and on-the-job experiences, the FLP iscommitted to developing associates' financial, leadership and teamwork skillswhile exposing them to Shire's technologies, product lines and global markets .
FLPassociates are typically involved in:
-Financial Reportingand Planning - where they budget, forecast and consolidate information reportedto the external community.
-Business Analysisand Decision Support - where they analyze and consolidate financial statementsfor Baxalta business units and functions, including commercial, operations, andR&D.
-Manufacturing/CostAccounting - where they use general and cost accounting skills to processissues related to day-to-day business and manufacturing operations.
-Corporate - wherethey address a variety of high-level financial tasks and projects that spanacross business units and regions.
Start Date is June 2017Qualifications
- Tograduate with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with at least 9credit hours in accounting. NOTE: All Analysts must have at least 12credit hours in accounting upon graduation from the program;
