ROLE SUMMARY The role provides financial support to client groups within Global Clinical Supply, BTx Pharmaceutical Sciences and the portfolio of Pharmaceutical Science development projects. The position interacts with and supports leaders of these groups and project teams. The role provides support for core financial processes, including monthly close activities, quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting and management reporting and analysis. The role provides near and long term financial analysis to support decision making. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for financial support of client groups within Global Clinical Supply, BTx Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the portfolio of Pharmaceutical Science development projects. Key activities include monthly close activities, quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting and management reporting and analysis. Provide financial guidance and decision support to ensure the organization meets financial targets, including identification, escalation, and resolution of key financial issues. Manage the $50M budget for Global Clinical supply. Work with the leader of Global Clinical Supply (a member of the Medicinal Sciences LT) and other key leaders within the group to develop and manage the annual budget, analyze variances, and make tradeoff decisions to deliver operational and financial goals. Responsible for the financial processes related to the $60M Storage and Distribution budget. This requires close partnership with leaders in Global Clinical Supply who manage the worldwide distribution of clinical supplies for use in Pfizer's clinical studies. The Finance Manager will help to develop quarterly financial forecasts, explain drivers of change in the forecast, and complete monthly accounting entries which distribute these costs to projects. Manage approximately $130M in project costs related to the Pharmaceutical Sciences development portfolio. This includes working with Pharmaceutical Sciences Team Leaders (PSTL's) and Project Managers to develop financial forecasts for programs. The development portfolio is dynamic and it is important to work with the team to reflect the financial impact of ongoing program changes. The Finance Manager will also work closely with other finance partners within the business unit to manage, balance and analyze these costs within the larger clinical portfolio. Manage the $30M capital budget for BTx Pharmaceutical Sciences. As a member of the BTx Capital Board, work with business partners to develop the capital budget, determine strategic priorities and make financial and operational tradeoffs. Throughout the year ensure timely closeout and capitalization of CIP (Construction in Progress) accounts. Manage the asset register for BTx Pharmaceutical Sciences and ensure compliance with annual inventory requirements. Responsible for monthly financial close activities, including the booking of various accounting entries to ensure accuracy of financial results and compliance with GAAP. QUALIFICATIONS 5-7+ years of finance experience. Bachelor's degree required. MBA and/or CPA/ACA strongly preferred. Experience should include budgeting, forecasting, planning and analysis for a global organization. Knowledge of accounting and prior experience in monthly financial close activities. Ability to communicate financial concepts to business leaders. Role is largely office-based. Requires ability to perform data analyses under time constraints, and the ability to effectively communicate findings and guidance to stakeholders.
