Job Summary
Amgen is seeking a Finance Manager who will play a key role in the Global Commercial Operations (GCO) Consolidation group in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). This position supports the Intercontinental region, which comprises emerging markets in Latin America, Middle East and Africa. This role will be based in Thousand Oaks and report to the Senior Manager in charge of the Intercontinental Region Consolidation.

As a member of this fast-pace, complex and dynamic region, this individual will be the key point of contact and responsible for the consolidation of Revenue for this region. This individual will be leading the Revenue planning processes such as the annual budget, quarterly forecasts and the long range plan. In addition to the planning processes, this person will support the quarter end close processes, prepare various management reports on financial performance and be able to explain key variance drivers and insights. Additionally, this person will provide key financial support and analysis on an ad hoc basis to help drive and improve business performance.
• Planning within the Financial Planning and Reporting system
• Data analysis to support business performance and variance analysis
• Quarter end close process support
• Track financials and prepare periodic reports
• Interact with various groups in Finance, Research &Development, and Sales and Marketing
• Provide project management support as necessary
• Perform ad hoc analysis and support special projects

Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree
Master's degree AND 2 years of Finance experience
Bachelor's degree AND 4 years of Finance experience
Associate's degree AND 10 years of Finance experience
High school diploma / GED AND 12 years of Finance experience

Preferred Qualifications
4 + years of corporate level experience with 2 + years of progressive finance / accounting experience
Relevant functional financial planning experience
Knowledge of key finance systems (such as SAP, MS Office, Hyperion planning and reporting systems)
Excellent Excel / PowerPoint skills
Detail oriented; strong business analytical skills
Strong quantitative and analytical skills including familiarity with finance and accounting terms
Proven ability to work effectively in in ambiguous situations and team environment
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently under time
Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence personnel across functions and levels
Ability to think strategically
MBA and/or CPA
Pharmaceutical/Biotech experience
