Consulting Director – Valuation Services – Machinery & Equipment
Due to the growth of our machinery & equipment valuation practice, RSM is seeking a highly motivated director to lead teams of valuation professionals in addressing our clients’ valuation requirements. It is anticipated that this position will be staffed within the RSM Central Region with a focus on the Dallas or Denver office.
As a director you will be part of our executive team, and as such, you’ll need to:
Draw upon your demonstrated technical, industry and valuation knowledge to become a trusted advisor to our clients
Effectively manage, motivate and mentor multidisciplinary teams to work as a cohesive, client-centric unit in delivering high-quality solutions to sophisticated clients
Leverage your existing network and personal brand in the marketplace to drive growth for the valuation services practice; including: identifying and securing new opportunities
Oversee a diverse book of business, maintaining overall responsibility for the profitability, effective delivery and engagement risk of all client related work within the portfolio
Establish and maintain an effective sales and marketing presence in the valuation services practice area including networking with peers in other geographic markets and in other areas of assurance, tax and business consulting
Promote cross selling and integration of service lines to our clients
Provide valuation expertise to our audit teams
Manage multiple client projects simultaneously, while providing leadership on proposal opportunities and ongoing internal initiatives
Recruit and retain future leaders of the firm. Leverage your experience and expertise to advance the professional aspirations and skills of your colleagues.

Bachelors or master’s degree in business, accounting or related discipline.
A minimum of 15 years of experience working as a valuation specialist, with a minimum of 10 years at a public accounting firm.
Applicable appraisal designation (e.g., ASA, RICS)
Successful experience in cultivating new business and related market-facing activities.
Exceptional interpersonal skills
Advanced presentation skills, including interaction with members of senior management
Strong computer skills including MS Office (especially Excel), analytic and problem solving expertise, and strong verbal and written communication abilities are critical
Ability to travel to meet client needs (estimated to be 30% to 50%).
