US Credit Card Finance supports the development and achievement of US Credit Cards financial results by providing insightful reporting, proactive analysis and timely advice to our partners in order to enable them to achieve their business goals and objectives.

Job Description

The Financial Analyst III role provides planning, forecasting, reporting and financial analysis support for US Credit Card's Business.

Reporting to the Consolidations Lead, the person in this role will partner with the all the Cards Business within US Credit Cards. The Financial Analyst will is a primary point of contact for this Line of Business, and will create forecasts/plans, reporting and analysis critical to business results, strategy and decision-making.

Enhanced value comes from identifying key insights and providing interpretation through in-depth understanding and analytics of the business. The role requires a broad financial and business perspective, demonstrated problem-solving abilities, and strong partnership skills.

The role has a number of accountabilities which include, but are not limited to, the following;

•Develop quarterly forecasts and partner with the Line of Business to study and incorporate recent cardmember behavioral trends; in addition, complete ad-hoc outlooks that may be requested periodically

•Create view of monthly P&L performance and lead walkthrough of results, communicating insights based on research of key variances and trends

•Deliver the regular Management Reporting and Forecast / Plan packages that are relied upon by Finance and Business stakeholders

•Undertake business case and portfolio analysis to assess profitability of Business initiatives

•Build and manage strong relationships with multiple Line of Business and functional group personnel across the Bank

•Analyze revenue and expense drivers in order to identify opportunities to generate additional earnings and improve operating efficiency

•Complete adhoc drilldowns into different aspects of card portfolio and summarize results for presentations to senior management

•Maintain industry, external and internal business awareness, recognizing and anticipating trends, identifying issues & opportunities, and recommending actions to senior management

•Represent finance on all partner strategic initiatives and participate in the direction of the business

•Contribute to the strategic direction of the Finance function by enhancing productivity, efficiency, and simplification of existing processes Job Description

This position provides planning, forecasting, reporting and financial analysis support for assigned line(s) of business and/or at the total segment level under the guidance of financial management. In addition, the Financial Analyst provides highly specialized financial consulting and analytical support at the assigned line(s) of business or total segment level identifying key emerging financial trends, measurement of key performance metrics and success factors, line of business and total segment financial target setting and measurement, capital budget and key initiative evaluation and planning, cost and product profitability analyses, specialized reporting and support for special projects.

Job Requirements
  • Conducts complex analysis as it applies to area of responsibility
  • Understands the whole financial function and the key business areas supported
  • Focus is on one or more components of results that have greater complexity (e.g., Expenses, Revenue, Volumes) or on complete results for a single line of business
  • May lead activities of unit, assigning, prioritizing and monitoring work
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or progressive work experience in addition to experience below
  • 5-7 years related experience required
  • In-depth knowledge of financial analysis, financial model-building and interpretive statistics, including cost and product analyses
  • Ability to successfully plan, develop, lead, and execute projects


Preferred skills: •SQL or SAS experience preferred

•Experience as a Hyperion Essbase developer / administrator preferred. Inclusiveness
