Summary of Team
The Return on Capital (ROC) Team bridges the gaps between Global Treasury Finance and the business units to align and drive corporate and business unit balance sheet strategies. The team is responsible for calculation and roll-out of the Return on Capital program and for working with business leaders and their finance partners to incorporate capital consumption into the decision-making process. Additionally the team is responsible for working with various stakeholders to assess methodology/framework as well as monitor key balance sheet metrics.

The successful candidate must:
    \t
  • \t\tDevelop solid knowledge of State Street's businesses to understand the key drivers of capital requirements and the implications of various regulatory capital treatments
  • \t
  • \t\tCollaborate with the team to implement Return on Capital framework enhancements and partner with business units to improve performance
  • \t
  • \t\tConduct working sessions with business and functional representatives to gather relevant input data and validate analytical output
  • \t
  • \t\tProactively identify opportunities to leverage ROC data in business decision making processes (e.g. budgeting pricing improvement planning etc.)
  • \t
  • \t\tDevelop and maintain knowledge of proposed changes to regulatory capital rules the implications of those rules to State Street and the timing of implementation
  • \t
  • \t\tParticipate in the production review and reporting of quarterly ROC for business units and clients
  • \t
  • \t\tReview and refine calculation methodologies and ensure proper socialization governance and control
  • \t
  • \t\tProduce written analyses and commentary as well as slides reports and documentation
  • \t
  • \t\tCommunicate findings to direct manager
The successful candidate will partner with various other functions (e.g. Treasury IT Corporate Strategy Regulatory Capital). The team will also work closely with Business Unit Finance and other dedicated analytics teams within Finance (e.g. Revenue Analytics Client Profitability and Centralized Reporting).
Qualifications

  • \t\t6+ years of experience in financial services
  • \t
  • \t\tStrong quantitative skills and attention to detail
  • \t
  • \t\tExcellent understanding of key financial statements specifically a bank's balance sheet
  • \t
  • \t\tUnderstanding of regulatory bank capital rules (e.g. Basel Fed etc.)
  • \t
  • \t\tKnowledge of complex financial products and businesses
  • \t
  • \t\tStrong written and verbal communication skills
  • \t
  • \t\tStrong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • \t
  • \t\tMust be team oriented
