Partners with internal customers to determine and execute any data and analysis requirements (including financial data) for business decisions, strategy, and reporting. Obtains and manages data, performs analyses, interprets results and provides insights to internal clients. Manages multiple projects and delivers results on time.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to AVP, Program Risk Mgmt - Spec Ins


+ Responsible for creating, packaging, and communicating analytic work using appropriate medium for insights, including story line and data visualizations.

+ Works across the department to identify modeling and analytic needs.

+ Manages multiple projects to develop measurement necessary to provide the functionality necessary to drive business results.

+ Gathers, analyzes and interprets a wide variety of underlying data to support business, customer and/or financial objectives. Identifies and assists in implementing data/reporting process improvements.

+ Creates and updates monthly financial business reports, including visualizations and working with internal stakeholders to determine KPIs.

+ Trains others in data techniques and reporting tools.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: Undergraduate studies with post graduate studies preferred in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics or similar field.

License/Certification/Designation: Insurance related studies gained by technical insurance designation is preferred.

Experience: min 3 years of business analytics experience required


JOB SUMMARY: Develops methodologies, assumptions, qualifications, computer programs, and analytical tools, using a variety of programming languages and software. Captures and processes data for complex actuarial and financial analyses. Works with supervision on more complex projects/assignments. Will be proficiently performing or assisting in a variety of Actuarial tasks which may include: data compilation and analysis, illustrations, model development, financial reporting and analysis, pricing, risk and reinsurance analysis, reserving/valuation and other duties as assigned.LOCATION: Nationwide FinancialRELATIONSHIP: Reports to Financial Director - Actuarial, Actuarial Manager, or other financial/actuarial management.DIRECT REPORTS: No Direct ReportsJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Assists and supports the compilation and categorization of data.2. Assists and supports the illustration of products.3. Assists and supports the building, maintainance and running of Actuarial Models.4. Assists and supports financial reporting and analysis.5. Assists and supports the pricing of products.6. Assists and supports the analysis of risks for lines of business.7. Assists and supports the establishment of reserves and/or statutory, GAAP, & tax valuation for products.8. Assists and supports the analysis of reinsurance opportunities.9. Performs other duties as assigned.JOB REQUIREMENTS:Education: Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar background requiring modeling, programming, or quantitative analysis.Experience: At least five years actuarial or related experience.Knowledge: Broad-based knowledge of actuarial business functions, statistical methods of analysis, company actuarial systems and databases, and their integration, technical facility with leading computer tools and technology.Skills/Competencies: Proficient in Microsoft Office products (including VBA within Access and Excel), programming languages and likely Actuarial models. Basic level of perpective, customer focus, business perspective, and accounting.
