Description: Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Kitchen Manager, Lead or FSM or FSD and the Food Service Worker is assigned to serve food from the stations to customers or cashier, and performs general and routine duties related to preparation of hot and cold foods and proper storing of food.

Summary :
Develop and promote food customer relations by responding to comments and complaints regarding the food service program. Also, follow National School Breakfast & Lunch Program guidelines and regulations, promote and maintain good relationships with school staff, principals, and teachers. Monitor and ensures compliance to HACCP procedures, all safety procedures, ARAMARK and school district policies and procedures, and all applicable state and federal regulations.
Specific Duties:
  • Must be in proper dress code at start of each shift with name badge, assigned polo shirt, black or tan pants, NON-slip resistant shoes, apron and hairnet/hat.
  • Handle, prepare and serve food according to directions on food production worksheets
  • Server prepare salads, vegetables, meats, breads, soups, and sauces and portion desserts
  • Portion and arranges food in or on serving dishes; also responsible for peeling, washing, and cutting vegetables or fruit
  • Weigh and measure designated ingredients
  • Set up food items, condiments and utensils for cafeteria line including making sandwiches to order
  • Responsible for transporting food to and from work stations, stoves, and refrigerators
  • Replenish food at serving stations as needed
  • Maintain adequate supplies of food being ordered to customers along with all necessary paper products needed for the customer purchase
  • Perform both front and back of house service, food preparation and sanitation duties
  • Maintain and follow all standard operating procedures and HACCP rules
  • Must maintain production logs daily and keep excellent communication between team members
  • Clean work areas, scrub and polish counters and other equipment on daily basis
  • Frequently scrub or wash trays, pots & pans and other equipment in dish room
  • Must attend meetings or training courses as required
  • When assigned to station as cashier, will setup bank, reconcile and follow cashier policy
  • Performs any other related duties as requested by Management, which will aid the flow of productions and meet the needs of the operation
Additional Job Functions
  • Knowledge of proper methods of preparing, cooking and storing food; healthy and safety rules and regulations pertaining to school establishments; nutritional and operational requirements of the National School Lunch and Breakfast programs and related federal and state regulations; familiarity with the problems and methods of preparing food in large quantities.
  • Ability to prepare, serve and store food in an organized function

  • Ensure daily cleaning and sterilization of all dishes, silverware, and cooking utensils
  • Promote good public relations
  • Attend in-service meetings as scheduled by the General Manager/Lead
  • Proper utilization of leftovers as required
  • Maintain a constant sense of cost control
  • Adhere to all HACCP regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Communicate with the Kitchen Manager daily to understand and properly prepare menu for the day
  • Serve food at proper portions as requested
  • Adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, steam kettles, and all other cooking and serving equipment
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to standardized recipes using blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, and other preparation equipment to prepare entrees, soups, salads, sandwiches, gravies, desserts, sauces, casseroles, and other food items
  • Bake, roast, broil, boil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
  • Observe and test food being cooked by tasting, smelling, and taking temperature to assure it is cooked
  • May wash, peel, cut, and shred vegetables and fruits to prepare them for use
  • May bake bread, rolls, cakes, and pastries
  • Other related duties as assigned
  • Skillfully use hand tools or machines needed for your work

Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Foodservice Sanitation Certificate as needed
  • High School diploma/GED
