Description: Position Summary:

Food Service Workers perform various food and beverage related tasks. This position requires individuals with a high attention to detail, and a strong dedication to customer service along with a positive and friendly attitude. The Food Service Worker position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the equipment and the kitchen as a whole.

Essential Functions:
  • Food Service Workers greet guests as they arrive and depart in a timely manner - always delivering exemplary customer service
  • Be able to work quickly and concisely under pressure
  • Understand what is inclusive of a reimbursable meal
  • Ensure proper handling of all food products and equipment is maintained, to ensure food safety standards are adhered to at all times
  • Ensure storage of food in a proper and sanitary manner
  • Ensure cleanliness and a pleasant atmosphere at all times - dispose of trash and keep areas clean at all times
  • Maintain daily side work -ensure any required logs are completed
  • Organize and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers and cooling and serving equipment at the regularly scheduled intervals
  • Ensure food items and supplies are checked in as they arrive
  • Ensure daily cleaning and sterilization of all dishes, silverware and cooking utensils
  • Maintain positive attitude in high stress situations
  • Promote good public relations
  • Must be able to work with diverse populations in a supportive and positive manner
  • Diplomatically handle guest complaints - always be polite and maintain a professional manner
  • Attend in-service meetings as scheduled by the General Manager/Lead
  • May be required to train other employees on the role
  • May be cross trained to work in other areas
  • Must be flexible and willing to work a varied schedule, perform other duties as assigned
  • Know and comply with all company policies and procedures regarding uniforms, safety, security and emergencies
  • Report to work on time and in complete uniform
  • Maintain cleaning schedule of equipment and facilities
  • Proper utilization of leftovers as required
  • Adhere to all HACCP regulations for sanitation, food handling and storage
  • Communicate with the Kitchen Manager daily to understand and properly prepare menu for the day
  • Serve food at proper portions as requested
  • Adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, steam kettles and all other cooking and serving equipment
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to standardized recipes using blenders, mixers, grinder, slicers, and other preparation equipment to prepare entrees, soups, salads, sandwiches, gravies, desserts, sauces, casseroles and other food items
  • Bake, roast, broil, boil and steam meats, fish, vegetables and other foods
  • Observe and test food being cooked by tasting, smelling and taking temperatures to assure it is cooked
  • May wash, peel, cut and shred vegetables and fruits to prepare them for use
  • May bake bread, rolls, cakes and pastries
  • Other related duties as assigned
  • MUST BE ABLE TO:
    • Skillfully use hand tools or machines needed for your work
    • Read instructions for items to be made
    • Be capable of using a computer
    • Use math to calculate change
    • Position requires the ability to multi-task, a strong customer service focus, strong communication skills and a positive attitude
    • Must be able to work efficiently - prepared to help wherever needed
    • Must be flexible and willing to work a varied schedule,
    • Perform work that is routine and organized


Qualifications: Qualifications:
  • Must be fluent in the English language both spoken and written - able to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, ARAMARK Alcohol Regulations, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Basic mathematical skills are required - must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide
  • Previous Customer Service experience preferred

Travel Requirements: Little or No Travel (>10%)

Lifting Requirements:
MEDIUM - Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects up to 25 pounds
