North American Commercial is the 'face' of AstraZeneca and MedImmune to our many healthcare clients. They represent many of the most well recognized and respected products in the industry, and build strong relationships with healthcare professionals.
AstraZeneca holds a unique position in respiratory disease, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), with a range of differentiated potential medicines in development by leveraging novel combinations, biologics and devices. The pipeline also has a number of promising assets in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases within areas such as psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, systemic lupus and rheumatoid arthritis
The Forecasting Director, Respiratory Biologics will directly report to the Senior Business Insight Director, Respiratory Portfolio.  This leadership role will be responsible for driving all forecasting deliverables in relation to finance and business planning cycles across for the Respiratory Biologics portfolio. 
Main Duties and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for designing and leading discussion of concise forecasting models that effectively drive team understanding of key events and facilitates decision-making
Collaborate with CI lead to prioritize and assess impact of events in the competitive landscape, with a special focus on developing concise quantification of business risks/opportunities
Build and maintain alignment with Global counterparts on class evolution and dynamics within the Respiratory space
Design insightful summaries for Budget and RBU updates and ensure timely discussion and alignment among key stakeholders
Standardize, automate and embed sensitivity analyses into forecasting process
Execute objective analysis in support of key business decisions that impact changes to the brand forecast
Collaborate closely with supply chain operations by engaging monthly with the Respiratory Customer
Account Manager to clarify assumptions driving six box model, and populate Envision X system with retail, HUD & sample volume forecasts as appropriate for each Respiratory brand.
Reporting Relationship
Direct reports: Currently 1 full time AZ Performance Assessment staff, potential for second staff member to support upcoming launches
Essential Requirements
  • Master's Degree in relevant field (e.g., business, economics, statistics, engineering)  
  • 5+ years of experience conducting range of analytics involving pharmaceutical data
  • Experience forecasting in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience with key secondary data, including IMS and Specialty Pharmacy sources
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience in modeling biologic brand uptake
  • 10 years of experience in analytics and insight
  • Managed a group of at least 1-3 analytical staff
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
