Eaton Crouse-Hinds in Syracuse, New York is looking for a Foundry Casting Processor to work first shift in our Iron Foundry department.
 
Primary Function:
  • Perform a wide variety of duties throughout the foundry areas following standard procedures and/or work instructions.
  • Duties involve transporting materials, castings and/or equipment with either a fork truck or payloader.
  • Use a variety of rough grinding equipment, portable hand power tools and bench grinders as necessary to remove parting lines, gates, riser, flash and other surface defects as prescribed.
  • Change own small inspect grinding wheels or bits or dress wheels as necessary according to job requirement or when worn, place prescribed wheel or abrasive belt on machine or select wheels or belts within narrow limits.
  • Operate other power equipment to cut sprues, gates, risers and runners.
  • Operate bandsaw and change blade as required. Operate power vac, repair ladles, dump and shakeout molds, hook off and shovel castings, etc.
  • Setup and operate automatic molding machines as assigned and/or following work instructions. Operate shot blast cleaning equipment.
  • Fill small cavities with lab metal and smooth.
  • Patch surface imperfections within Q.C. standards and operate automatic floor sweeper.
  • Perform minor maintenance duties such as tightening loose parts (spray nozzles, etc.), replacing parts (sprues, etc.), clean assigned work area.
  • Detect and report all defective materials; refer questionable cases to proper supervision. Follow prescribed or standard safety regulations.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographic area of Syracuse, NY will be considered for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum one year experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail; usually repetitive work or diversified operations requiring constant alertness or activity
  • Minimum one year experience working in a foundry environment
 Position Criteria: 
  • Ability to read, write, add, subtract and follow instructions; includes the use and reading of fixed gauges, and other instruments not requiring interpretation.

  • Moderate physical effort equivalent to continuous light, frequent average, or occasional heavy manual effort manual effort applied various ways in performance of various job duties.
