Senior Internal Auditor

Within Americas Internal Audit, you will conduct assignments primarily within AL Canada, and occasionally other entities in the US and the Americas, focusing primarily on:

  • The correct implementation of Group policies, procedures, codes and guidelines, and prevailing laws and regulations
  • The preservation of Group assets
  • The integrity, reliability, completeness and traceability of financial and accounting information communicated both internally and externally
  • The control over operational and functional processes

Primary responsibility involves:

  • Conducting process and internal control reviews
  • Identifying risks / weaknesses and making value-added recommendations to improve efficiency
  • Demonstrating a confident handling of audit tools and processes (work programs, risk analyses, added value reports, etc.)
  • Establishing constructive relationships with the audited Entities both during the audit missions and on an ongoing basis
  • Acting as the audit correspondent for AL Canada Management, and as such, contribute to defining the Canada annual audit plan, support them in their audit needs and with corrective action plans
  • Pro-actively and efficiently communicating with Hub Internal Audit VP and other Group / Zone auditors to enhance consistency of approaches / standards;
  • Ensuring independence of audit and confidentiality of information received
  • Constructively improving audit standards and work programs
  • Promoting internal audit as competent partner creating value

You will be located at Airgas Head Office in Radnor, PA and must be willing to travel about 40% of your time (mainly in Canada, with possible trips in the US and the Americas).
Education and experience required :

Graduated from an engineering or business school, you have 7 to 10 years relevant professional background in industry (operations or support functions) combined with both internal and external audit experience.

In addition to the above, you should be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Ability to understand and speak French in business conversations is preferred.
  • Impressive analytical and synthesis capabilities
  • Highly proficient in written and oral communication
  • Excellent team spirit
  • Strong planning skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to supervise (as mission leader) and coach others
