Accountemps is looking for an efficient Full Charge Bookkeeper to take on an exciting job opportunity. Your responsibilities will include the preparation of financial statements; the establishment and preservation of the accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives of the business; and all other general accounting and bookkeeping tasks. This long term temporary-to-fulltime Full Charge Bookkeeper position is located in Jersey City, New Jersey. Major responsibilities - Handling bank and general ledger reconciliations, as well as payroll processing - Preparing depreciation schedules by tracking fixed assets - Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows - Filing documents to maintain historical records - Handling processing tasks for accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections - Overseeing work of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers - Ensuring correct and punctual monthly, quarterly and year end close - Maintaining adherence to federal, state, and local legal requirements by keeping up to date on them, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions
