We are seeking a talented, creative, and passionate Software engineer with mobile application development experience to join the Growth Hacking Innovation team - responsible for developing and deploying growth hacking for new user growth across eBay’s global user experience on web and mobile. The landscape of hacks for growth has no bounds - social, viral, visual, data driven, UX, AI and ML to name a few – and you will be part of key innovations to drive growth through product optimizations, viral hooks, invite flows, and features.  In addition, the team will test and evolve industry best practices for growth hacking. 

You will contribute to design, development and agile efforts for both the presentation and service tiers. As a self-motivated and enthusiastic member of our team, you will work with extremely talented peers in a fun environment pushing the performance bar across web & mobile applications.

You will enjoy the challenges of mastering the behavior across all browers & screens to deliver a consistent and elegant user experience. Define, design, and implement complex, multi-tier distributed software applications for the platform. Develop innovative solutions that not only meet functionality requirements but meet performance, scalability and reliability requirements while adhering to implementation schedules, development principles and product goals.

Must be able to independently design, code and test major features, as well as work jointly with other team members to deliver complex features. Help define product requirements, estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, rollout system changes and evaluate product performance. Share release management duties on feature rollouts, share on-call responsibilities.

Job Requirements:

  • 8+ Years of software design and development experience working on a team
  • 2+ Years of experience developing Mobile Applications(Android or iOS)
  • Experience developing and integrating with web services, TCP/IP and databases
  • Expert Java Programmer, capable of writing commercial quality Android applications or iOS applications using Swift, Objective C, and Cocoa - please provide links to published apps
  • Solid working knowledge of mobile application design considerations.
  • Work well with team members and other teams, dividing up workload appropriately.
  • Experience with Deep webservice & API experience, Java IDEs (e.g. Eclipse), profilers, debuggers, revision control systems (e.g. GIT) and bug tracking (e.g. Jira)
