Hartford Funds is seeking an individual to join the Fund Treasury team. The Financial Reporting Analyst will work closely with other operational units of Hartford Funds to play a key role in the preparation of drafts of annual, semi-annual and quarterly financial statements for registered investment companies, as well as participate in changes brought on by SEC Modernization. The position provides support to senior team members and managers in connection the preparation and review of required regulatory reporting, and also completes various projects as assigned. This individual will be responsible for reviewing mutual fund and exchange traded product quarterly, semi-annual and annual financial statements, including review of Form N-SAR, Form N-Q and Form N-CSR and all related financial statement disclosures and accounting matters. Additionally, this individual may be involved in the review of other fund work prepared by the accounting agent, as needed.

The responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to some or all of the following:
• Review of financial statements for funds in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Regulation S-X
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and supporting notes to be included in regulatory filings
• Working with the funds' external auditors to support the completion of annual audits
• Assist with research and analysis of technical accounting issues affecting the funds
• Monitoring the development of new accounting standards and relevant interpretations
• Maintain and develop, as appropriate, controls, systems, policies and procedures in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SOX requirements
• Assist in the oversight and coordination of the funds' SOX compliance efforts
• Interface with internal and external auditors for quarterly reviews, annual audits, controls testing for SOX compliance and other related inquiries
• May also participate in special projects, as needed, including process improvement initiatives, review of new regulatory reporting filings, systems implementations, and fund mergers


Qualifications:
• BA/BS degree preferably in Accounting, Finance or business related field
• 1-3 years financial reporting, fund accounting or fund administration experience
• Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency required
• Adaptable/flexible; open to change
• Problem solving skills
• Organizational and analytical skills
• Sound communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be willing to work effectively independently, as well as in a team, in an open floor environment
• Support team leader/manager on team projects
