Adecco Staffing is assisting a new customer in Bellefontaine for a variety of open positions. This customer is a leading provider in surgical equipment repair to hospitals nationwide. They are proudly a veteran owned business.

The primary role of the repair technician is to use technical mechanical skills for alignment, sharpening and precision repairs on general surgical medical instruments.


* Inspect and test malfunctioning general surgery equipment, to determine serviceability and condition for repair.
* Disassemble malfunctioning equipment and remove, repair, or replace defective part.
* Solder loose connections, using soldering iron.
* Weld connections using laser welder.
* Apply color cue, durabond and re-insulate general surgical instruments.
* Keep records of maintenance, parts, and repair.
* Perform preventative maintenance and service, such as cleaning, lubricating or adjusting equipment.
* Any other task or duty as assigned or required.

EDUCATION- at minimum a high school diploma/GED. With preferably 2-3 year experience in a machine shop environment.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS-ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from supervisor and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS-determine specs to manufacture replacement parts, understand caliper measurements and conversion of U.S. to metric measures.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS-ability to solve practical problems using logic and reasoning and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.

MOTOR SKILLS-good hand-eye coordination to control, guide, and direct the hands to execute a task.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED-under direction of a structured work environment allowing some opportunity of determining sequence of own work.

MENTAL DEMAND-requires close and continuous attention to perform task through completion.

ANALYTICAL ABILITY/PROBLEM SOLVING-job requires analyzing information and using logic to solve repair related issues and problems.
USE OF MACHINES, EQUIPMENT AND/OR COMPUTERS-knowledge of instrument repair machines including bench grinder, mill, lathe, disc sander, sand blaster, solder iron, torches, foredom handpiece, laser welder and sandblasting machine.

ACCURACY/QUALITY-frequency and possibility of error would affect organizations prestige and relationship with the customer.

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit on work stool, stand, bend and make precise coordinated movements of the fingers or one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects: occasionally walk, lift and carry 10-15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.

Work is performed in an environmentally controlled atmosphere with occasional exposure to loud noise. Handling of medical equipment and may come in contact with bio-hazardous material.

HOURS: Monday - Friday 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with overtime as needed

PAY: $12-13/hour
