A large Tech company based in Santa Clara is seeking a General Ledger Accountant for a contract to full-time opportunity. The General Ledger Accountant has the responsibility to guarantee the accurate and complete recording of accounting transactions, timely month-end close of the accounting records and preparation of financial reports and schedules to internal and external parties. General Ledger Accountant Responsibilities: Prepares and posts recurring journal entries in general accounting (e.g. rents for expatriates, car leases, office rent) Analyses and checks accounting data acquired directly by general ledger or coming from accounts payable Posts accruals, accrued and deferred, every month-end and year-end: Prepares and posts routine accruals (e.g. insurance) Proposes "forecastable" accruals to Legal Entities (through variance analysis, e.g. A P, G A) and posts if approved Posts discretionary accruals based on information communicated by the Legal Entities Performs Period End activities, in adherence to general ledger close schedule: Reconciles assigned GL accounts and maintains supporting detail Analyzes and explains account variances Performs intercompany reconciliations, liaising as needed with other local accounting departments of Group's subsidiaries Proposes adjustment journal entries and posts them after approval If interested, please send your resume in Word format to Michael at Michael.Kisha@accountemps.com, with the title, "GL Accountant"
