General Manager

Adecco Direct Hire is recruiting on behalf of our esteemed client in the Charlotte, NC area for the position of General Manager. Qualified candidates for this role will have management experience in a small retail environment in the sporting goods industry (preferrably the firearms industry). A four-year degree, and experience executing a business plan, as well as achieving P&L objectives are all necessary for this role. The duties and responsibilities of this position include: Overview As General Manager, you will lead the store's operations, staffing, scheduling, guest satisfaction, product quality control, financial performance, and team development. Essential Functions Accountabilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Faithfully executes the business plan, achieving and exceeding planned P&L objectives. Leads, manages, and holds the leadership team accountable for achieving agreed-upon commitments. Integrates all major operating functions of the business. Ensures everyone is rowing together in the same direction. Models the way, always working towards the greater good of the business. Resolves issues effectively - seeing real problems, being comfortable with conflict, calling out problems, and solving the problems in a practical and healthy manner. Ensure the leadership team is healthy, functional, and cohesive. Ensures that everyone is truly following and adhering to the company's core processes and operating system with consistency. Demonstrates effective project management skills. Dependably demonstrates relentless obsession with values alignment, focus, simplicity, and clarity. Effectively collaborates with the Visionary and stays on the same page. Maintains a high level of mutual respect with the Visionary. Realizes the unique contributions and ideas that the Visionary has, and possesses an ability to filter and translate those ideas into functional plans for the company. Confirms that all key messages are properly and consistently cascaded across the organization. Inherently ensures that everyone is in the know. Verifies that a high level of effective communication exists throughout the organization. Education/Experience 4+ years management experience, including at least 2 years in retail BA/BS degree required or an additional 2 years of related experience in lieu of a degree Other Qualifications Possess a positive, can-do attitude Ability to organize and prioritize activities with attention to detail Ability to communicate, both verbally and written, clearly and concisely in English is required Have passion for our products and possess experience with firearms either in a retail environment or from personal experience; strong knowledge of firearms and firearms accessories is highly preferred Willing to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Strong computer skills with ability to effectively maneuver a Windows environment and to use Microsoft Office products Qualified candidates are asked to send a Microsoft Word version of their resume to Bob Kalbaugh at for immediate consideration.
