GI Tech Full Time
Performs various activities, technical tasks, and unit maintenance duties related to non-professional services necessary in the GI Lab under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Preparation of equipment and supplies for GI procedures. Provide assistance to physician and nurses during procedure, handles specimens according to policy & procedure, transports patients, assists in positioning of patient, handles endoscopes and equipment safely, assists with cleaning & disinfecting of scopes, practices infection control requirements by use of Personal Protective Equipment, assists with clean up of GI rooms in a timely manner for quick turn-over, and performs other duties requested within scope of position to assist with other responsibilities such as ordering, stocking, & inventory of the unit. Transports non-controlled medications.Qualifications: Education/Certification:
- Graduate of a Patient Care Assistant Certification course preferred.
- Previous experience working in a GI Lab department or healthcare setting preferred.
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS issued by the American Heart Association required.
- At least one year of experience in the GI Lab or other healthcare setting.
