Global Director of Immuno-Oncology Communications, Oncology position available in Gaithersburg, MD to be accountable for building, enhancing, and protecting the reputation of AstraZeneca's Immuno-Oncology (IO) pipeline and brands. Identify issues and develop mitigation plans, including scenario planning, appropriate training for key internal stakeholders and issues tracking. Ensure timely communications and alignment on emerging issues across key internal stakeholder groups, including in markets. Responsible for driving commercial success through impactful communications across the internal and external audiences. Develop and execute innovative global communication strategy for IO unbranded and branded elements. Develop compelling narrative to bring life the science-led IO pipeline and life-changing medicines within the portfolio in a way that resonates with a wide range of key audiences including employees, scientific collaborators, the oncology community, academics and researchers, and patients and the media. Position requires a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Immunology Systems, Medical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Oncology, Communications, Public Affairs and Corporate Affairs, or a related field plus ten (10) years of experience in the job offered or as a Vice President, Healthcare; Senior Director, Medical Content; Medical/Scientific Editor; or a related position. The employer will accept a Ph.D. in meeting the Master's degree requirement. Must have 10 years of experience: creating, distilling, and translating scientific and technical content for a wide range of key audiences, including healthcare professionals, patients, investors, and employees; and managing agencies and vendors in support of events management, creative development , and media engagement. Must have five (5) years of experience with: social media communications campaigns in the pharmaceutical/healthcare and biotech industries, including multichannel campaign development, editorial calendar content development, and real time use of social media channels to inform, engage, and debate; issues management, including proactive planning and scenario development across a range of issues specific to the pharmaceutical, healthcare, and biotech industry; and managing global teams and budgets.
