The Global Medical Affairs Lead, (GMAL), is accountable for the development and execution of the global medical affairs strategy. Through leadership of the (Product) Global Medical Affairs Team (GMAT) and deep understanding of the global landscape, the GMAL will develop and lead the execution of global external engagement, communication and evidence generation strategies and will contribute to the overall global product strategy.
The key responsibilities for this role are:
Lead the Global Medical (Product) team through direct and indirect reporting relationships
Contribute to global product strategy through deep understanding of the medical environment globally through integration of country and regional insights, and engagement of external experts.
Develop and lead the execution of global medical affairs strategy, including external stakeholder management, scientific communications, evidence generation and medical education strategy
Develop and lead execution of a global medical communication strategy including:Clinical narrative framework

Develop global external stakeholder engagement strategy
Facilitate and continue to build Amgen's role as a science based and patient focused reliable partner
Core member of the Evidence Generation Team (EGT) partnering with Global Development Leads on evidence generation activities and ensuring the Evidence Generation Plan (EGP) includes key regional/local needs to be addressed. Develop potential area of Scientific interest for Investigator Sponsored Studies (ISS) ()
Develop and lead execution of medical educational strategy
Provide medical insights and advice to the global Insights and Brand Team (IBT) strategy
M.D. OR DO degree
PharmD OR PhD and 8+ years of complex medical science experience in industry or research
Masters and 12+ years of complex medical science experience in industry or research
5+ years of experience in Medical Affairs
Experience in the designated therapeutic area
5+ years of patient clinical experience
10+ years of medical affairs experience in the pharma/biotech industry
3+ years of scientific or medical research
Accredited fellowship in a sub-specialty, board certified or equivalent
Management and leadership experience in a direct report and non-direct report framework with complex cross-functional responsibilities
Experience in global program development and/or management
