Adecco Executive Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of its client for the position of General Manager (Americas). This position can be located in either Van Wert, OH or Auburn Hills, MI.
You will be responsible for freight movement in the Americas region and possess the following education, skills, experience & strengths:
Bachelor's degree required - Master's preferred
Minimum of 10 years' operational experience with all modes of transport
Domestic and international road
Expedite air and road service provision
Cross-trade, import/export ocean freight
Key Account Management
Strategic partnering, stakeholder management & customer facing
Proven experience within the Americas market
Strong background in international, including road and sea-freight operations
Excellent leader of management, including remote staff
Highly analytical and forward thinking
You will be responsible for:
Process design and compliance management
Management of KPI deliveries
Ownership of customer SOP & service delivery
Management of operational margins
Responsibility for operational system data integrity
Pricing for new business proposals within remit
Team training, development & recruitment
Ensure customs compliance of all activities under remit
Setting and management of operation team budgets
Re-enforce and maintain a culture to deliver continuous improvement to enhance customer experience and service excellence
Collaborate to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives as required
In accordance with the quality system, direct investigations to address service concerns
Plan, organize and manage the work of team to ensure that work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements
Ensuring transport activities are managed in accordance with internal and customer service requirements
Ensure teams are working within company standards, putting in place necessary corrective actions to address deviations
Strengthen & refine management framework for operations - e.g., metrics, reporting, review processes, etc.
Ability to pro-actively highlight areas of improvement or concern, make recommendations, and implement solutions
Understanding of local and US Customs Procedures, including import/export documentation requirements
Support cost reduction activities to produce margin improvements for the Americas region and savings and efficiencies for its customers.
Identify business opportunities to ensure that the required growth is achieved.
Ensure the region builds strong relationships with customers and suppliers and encourage appropriate visits as and when required
